Brighton and Hove Albion have officially confirmed that Tate Ferdinand has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 17-year-old defender has put pen to paper on a long-term agreement at the Amex Stadium.

Ferdinand, son of former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand, joined the Brighton youth academy in 2024 after progressing through junior grassroots systems.

He has impressed academy coaches with his composure on the ball, tactical maturity, and physical presence in the heart of the defence during his time with the club youth teams.

The teenager joined his elder brother Lorenz Ferdinand at the club, who is currently progressing through the goalkeeping development ranks at the club.
