Brighton 3-2 Charlton- Match Report

Late show secures unbeaten Brighton incredible comeback win against CharltonLate goals from Bobby Zamora and Tomer Hemed secured Brighton a remarkable 3-2 comeback win against Charlton, taking them back to the top of the Sky Bet Championship. The Seagulls, who have now stretched their undefeated club-record run to 20 league matches since the end of last season, stormed back after Charlton had raced into a two-goal lead after just five minutes.Charlton, with only two wins from their previous 14 league games, had to play the last 31 minutes with 10 men after German defender Patrick Bauer received a straight red card bringing down Zamora. The Addicks went in front with their first attack, with Ademola Lookman running through to Reza Ghoochannejhad's pass to score with a left-footed shot in just the second minute. It was Lookman's first professional league goal in only his fifth start for the club and worse was to come for the Seagulls when Ghoochannejhad doubled the advantage three minutes later.A strong run down the left from Johann Berg Gudmundsson had the Brighton defence back-pedalling and his low cross to the back post was driven in firmly as the Iran striker netted his third goal of the season.Brighton went into the game parading a new strike force with the veteran Zamora partnering Manchester United loanee James Wilson, who was called up for his full debut with Hemed dropping to the bench.Charlton, looking to ram home their advantage further, threatened again when a cross from Ricardo Vaz Te was met firmly at the far post by Ghoochannejhad and his goal-bound header drew a fine save from keeper David Stockdale. The Addicks were forced to make a change midway through the first half when French defender Naby Sarr came on for Harry Lennon, who sustained a gashed head in an aerial challenge with Solly March. The Brighton winger played on despite suffering a cut near the eye and, after Stockdale saved brilliantly from Berg Gudmundsson, March drove an angled shot over the bar in a rare Seagulls attack. But the home side's defence was rocking again in stoppage time when Lookman went clean through and his goal-bound shot was saved by Stockdale's legs.Brighton were back in the match five minutes into the restart as England Under-21s striker Wilson hit a superb individual goal.Wilson, with the Seagulls until the end of the season, went past three defenders before beating Irish keeper Stephen Henderson with a low shot from a central position.March almost bagged his third home goal in succession when his fierce angled drive was touched onto the post by Henderson.Charlton were reduced to 10 men on 59 minutes when defender Bauer was shown a straight red card by referee Keith Stroud for pulling down Zamora.Charlton came under increased pressure in the second half and had a let-off when Wilson put a first time left-footed shot wide following a cross by Bruno. However, the Seagulls turned the match in their favour late on by scoring twice within a minute.Veteran goal-grabber Zamora, 34, levelled from six yards following a cross by March in the 84th minute and then substitute Hemed pounced to give them victory. The Israeli international striker struck with a header, which keeper Henderson could only parry and the ball looped up over his head and into the net
