Tomer Hemed effort enough as Seagulls see off HullTomer Hemed struck the only goal as Brighton made it five wins out of six to extend their lead at the top of the Championship with a narrow 1-0 home victory over Hull City.Hull, outplayed in the first half, enjoyed more possession after the interval but struggled to create many clear-cut opportunities before a crowd of 24,815 at the Amex Stadium.Brighton dedicated their biggest match of the season to victims of the Shoreham Airshow disaster.The Seagulls honoured their groundsman Matt Grimstone and his Worthing United team-mate Jacob Schildt and, at the request of their families, there was a minute's applause before the game.Albion got off to a perfect start with Israel international striker Hemed giving them the lead after only five minutes.Hemed fired home his fourth goal of the season from close range after Scottish keeper Allan McGregor parried a goal-bound shot from Dale Stephens.Hemed, unmarked six yards from goal, should have doubled the advantage two minutes later but failed to react to a fine cross from Liam Rosenior.Brighton's early dominance also saw winger Kazenga LuaLua have a low 25-yard drive taken down by McGregor.Hull striker Chuba Akpom, passed fit despite missing England Under-21s duty with a knee injury, was badly off target when City were awarded a free-kick just outside the area.City manager Steve Bruce made his first substitution after 31 minutes when David Meyler was withdrawn in favour of Tom Huddlestone, who operated just in front of the back four.Albion collected two quick bookings with LuaLua and skipper Gordon Greer being cautioned for fouls - and the former's fifth booking of the season rules him out of Tuesday`s home game against RotherhamBrighton began the second half well and LuaLua had a goal-bound shot blocked before Hemed just failed to get on the end of a excellent cross from Bruno Saltor.Brighton`s former Fulham keeper David Stockdale, rarely called into action, went down smartly to gather a low drive from Sam Clucas.Hull introduced Nigerian midfielder Sone Aluko after Albion boss Chris Hughton made his first change by bringing off Hemed in favour of midfielder Rohan InceAlbion`s former goal king Bobby Zamora, back with the club after 15 years, came on to a tremendous reception when he replaced Baldock with 12 minutes remaining.Beram Kayal came close to extending Albion`s lead three minutes from time but his goal-bound shot was blocked
