Wednesday Boss hits out at Brightons Leon Knight

The Owls boss told the club AGM recently: "From the day I came here, Knight said he didn't like Sheffield Wednesday, he felt let down by the previous manager Terry Yorath because he played him out of position and kept taking him off.

"After two weeks he still wanted to go back to Chelsea. As he was on a year's loan, I didn't allow this, and from that day onwards he tried his utmost to get us to send him back.

"He went back to Chelsea because he was under contract to them. It's not as if he was our player to let go to Brighton."

Knight joined Brighton on loan at the start of this season, immediately started scoring goals and signed for us in a £100,000 deal.

The Brighton goalscorer says that Wednesdays manager is to blame for the club's lack of success and if he were to lose his job, then "that is just what happens in football".

But Turner hit back, saying: "It's an example of a player not doing the business for us on the field but then blaming the manager."

Knight, who has hit 24 goals for Brighton, said: "If we beat Wednesday and he gets the sack, then that is just what happens in football.

"We're going there for three points, and whatever their board decide to do or whatever pressure he is under, it's his problem. He runs it the way he wants and it's not going well for him so he's got to take the blame. It's a simple as that."

Knights record at his last four Clubs, decide for yourself.
