First half line up

Kuipers
Watson Cullip Butters Mayo
Beck Harding Lee Jones
Knight Robinson

Second Half

Roberts
Watson (El-Abd) Virgo Hinshelwood Mayo
Beck (Budd) Lee Harding (Oatway) Jones (Reid?)
Knight (Piercey) Robinson (Hart)

Leon Knight looked very sharp and he scored the first with ease after a good all through by Lee (I think). Kuipers made one great stop just before the whistle and it was 1-0 at half time and it was good to see the players putting in the effort. Jones was giving it everything.

Second half and Packham did his usual one big mistake per game and let a Knight shot slip through his hands for 2-0, it was a shame as he had made some good stops and looked very confident before the mistake.

Not long after the sub keeper and a Worthing defender managed to get a right old mess and the defender drove the ball past the oncoming keeper for a nice own goal.

Roberts had a couple of dodgy moments, first he dropped a cross and somehow recovered to clear the ball, then he later dribbled past a couple of players before clearing, so nothing changes there then!

It was good to see a high level of commitment and Worthing played their part in an entertaining pre season match. Mayo played the whole 90 minutes, but I have to say he looked slightly out of condition, but he was the only one!

Budd looked a bit nervous, but had some nice touches. I was told he is the youngster who has suffered 2 broken legs but been given more time by the club to prove himself.

The crowd was not that big, a couple of thousand max, probably less. No sign of the new home kit, we played in the yellow away kit.
