Ravens View of Stafford

The back 4 saw Mayo switch to right back, Lynch partner Hinshelwood in the middle and Rents in at left back.

Frutos came in for El-Abd, but for some unknown reason was put on the right side of midfield and Fraser switched to central midfiled alongside Hammond, so all in all a very different line up to the last few games.

Mayo coped pretty well playing on the right side, but sadly Frutos did not. His right foot is used to stand on and no more, so he just couldnt adapt to right sided play and subsequently gave away the ball and what little confidence he might have had was all but destroyed. He got 15 minutes on the left but by then the match was passing him by.

Rents had a great game at left back and was my MOTM.

The first goal saw Hammond get the ball in space, he controlled it, looked up and placed the ball past the keeper into the far right hand corner from about 25 yards, a great finish.

The second goal saw a great cross in from Rents and Revell connected with his head, directing the ball wide of the keeper for his 7th of the season.

The third saw Cox put Robinson clean through and he slotted the ball under the keeper for his 12th of the season.

Stafford had one good effort that was just over the bar, had one scrambled away after Henderson missed a punch. The number 12 for Stafford was truly dire, and 43 year old Paul Grayson not much of a threat.

I thought that the Stafford number 5 was there best player by miles and he had a great battle with Revell.

It was good to see Chippy get a run out, he looked fit and played some great balls to John.

Another dreadful display by the referee, the Revell booking was a joke!

Still, roll on West Ham away, a tough game, but one we might have a chance of getting a result and also some £££££££s as it should be a full house and we will take loads as usual!

Henderson - 6 not much to do

Mayo - 6 coped well at right back

Hinshelwood - 6 solid

Lynch - 6 much better game

Rents - 7 solid and great cross for Revell goal
