Ravens View of Reading

Last updated : 22 March 2005 By Mark R

I found last night extremely frustrating, Reading didn't deserve to win.

The referee penalised our forwards every time there was a tangle and our defenders for doing nothing different to Reading players. Saying that, our midfield was non existent for 45 minutes last night.

Virgo centre midfield in preference to Dean Hammond is a joke. Not taking McCammon off when he was clearly struggling and not going to do anything was a joke.

McPhee is still way off the pace. Recall Robinson from Aldershot now and give him a go.

I am a pessimist and last night added to my worries.

Oh well at least no Albion to worry about this weekend, roll on Coventry away.

Shabaan - 5 his confidence appears to be suffering

Reid - 8 was MOTM again, time and time again he had nobody to pass to as our midfield was AWOL

Mayo - 6 battled hard and I thought we looked OK at the back first half

Hinshelwood - 6 let hope he isn't out for too long, looked painful

Butters - 7 back to his old commanding self

Harding - 7 much better game, settled in at left back, but still to me appears to back off too much

Oatway - 4 first half was terrible, did eventually get going but gave away the ball too easily too often

Virgo - 5 must be sick of playing different positions for a few minutes at a go, why not give him 10 mins in goal next time!

Hart - 4 awful game, not involved at all

Knight - 7 worked hard and wanted the ball

McCammon - 3 unfit and shouldn't have started

McPhee - 3 poor game, sad attempt to head a Leon cross, is he better than Robinson or Molango?

Hammond - 7 best creative midfielder we have - get him on at the start!

Jones - 3 playing for a new contract is he? Goodbye!

May and Watson not used

We need some loan players in before the Thursday deadline.
