Ravens View of Huddersfield

We met up with our mates in the Weatherspoons, then moved on to the Albert hotel, a great old traditional pub. After a few beers, it was time to jump into a taxi to the ground.

We got in the ground just before 3pm and found they food counter had sold out so went straight to our seats.

The away turn out was much better than at Scunthorpe, I reckon about 600.

We started the game with Revell and Robinson up front, and the partnership clicked. The 2 forwards along with Cox and Hammond linked up superbly and we looked very dangerous on the attack.

The first good chance saw Hammond play a ball across the face of goal, but Robinson just couldn't get to the ball. Then Revell was put cleanthrough by Robinson but the keeper blocked well.

Then we finally went 1 up, Cox broke down the left, put in a cross, Robinson headed the ball down and into the keepers arms, and then into the net. Delayed celebrations as it was down the far end and nobody was sure it had gone in.

Not long later Cox crosses again to Robinson who met the ball with a superb half volley and it was 2-0.

Revell then nearly made it 3, but 2 up at half time was ok by me!!!.

The second half saw Harty on for Fraser, but then he was hacked down and was off after about 4 minutes on the pitch. Hammond then set up Jakes hattrick, a great through ball down the left hand side and Robinson now full on confidence, curled the ball round the keeper despite 3 defenders being close to him.

The rest of the game saw Huddersfield try and kick us off the pitch. Hammond was up ended with a dreadful challenge and then the Referee finally produced a straight red after Revell was caught two footed from behind, a disgraceful tackle.

Henderson - 6 not a lot to do, blocked one hard shot
Whing - 6 quieter game
Butters - 6 as above
Hinshelwood - 6 as above
Mayo - 8 great game, and also good when moved to midfield
Hammond - 8 best display in an Albion shirt
Cox - 9 as above
El-Abd - 6 hard man in midfield
Fraser - 6 played the holding role
Robsinson - 10 3 great goals
Revell - 8 battled and link up play was superb

Hart (for Fraser at half time)- only on the pitch for a few minutes
Lynch (for Hart ) - 7 another class player
Rents (for Robinson) - 6 game was over when he came on
