Ravens View of Forest

So last Saturday Brentford fans sang 2 nil and you f***ed it up, and on this Saturday we had Forest fans singing 1 nil and you F***ed it up, which I think summed up both games quite nicely.

We met a few mates in the Trip to Jerusalem pub and had a few nice cold beers, sitting outside Englands oldest pub. It was soon time to head to the ground, we were soon in the ground and by kick off I would have guessed at around 1,200 to 1,500 Albion fans had made the short trip to Nottingham!

The game was a lively first 45 minutes, we looked pretty solid and had managed to quiten the noisy home fans. Just before half time and there was a long cross put in by the Albion, no real danger, the keeper fumbled the ball as he tried to catch it, Revell was alert to this, chased the ball down and pulled a low cross back in for Robinson to knock it into an empty net.

Just minutes later, Lynchs clearing header heads upwards and back towards Henderson, he is beaten to the ball and it looks like 1-1 as they shoot but somehow Reid blocks the ball with his midrift and hooks the ball out for a corner.

So 1-0 at half time and we looked good.

Second half and the other Albion came out, we sat back, we never looked comfortable and you just knew that we would give away at least one goal.

Mayo was beaten all ends up by the Forest winger (twice), he put in a short pass into the openalty box to the centre forward who was pulled by El-Abd and it was a penalty. A great effort by Henderson but the penalty was tucked just inside the post (Forest have now had a penalty in every game this season - they missed the first three!!).

McGhee by now had Cox on for an anonymous Robinson (despite the goal), but we just couldn't get hold of the ball. With 15 minutes left, they attacked down the right again, in came a cross and the unmarked Holt nodded in number 2 for Forest.

In the final 15 minutes we just couldnt get going, the players looked very tired, short of ideas. We did have one chance, the hard working Reid put in a cross, the shot by Cox was blocked and Revell hit the rebound just over, but to be honest we didnt look like equalising.

Henderson - 6 good handling, no chance for either goal

Reid - 8 at least he could run for 90 minutes

Mayo - 4 poor second half, Forest attacked down the side to exploit lack of pace

El-Abd - 5 stupid bookings

Lynch - 6 is holding a very poor defence together

Carpenter - 5 off the pace

Hammond - 6 ran his socks off but faded badly

Stokes - 5 off the pace

Revell - 7 kept going and going and played well

Hart - 6 off the pace

Robinson - 4 off the pace, but was in the right place at the right time for the goal

Cox - on for Robinson - 6 ran about and switched to various positions as McGhee tried to change things about

Frutos for Stokes - 3 gave away the ball almost everytime he got it, he gave away the ball for the break that lead to the 2nd goal

Santos for Mayo in the last minute, was thrown up front but then ended up covering for the sent off El-Abd
