Ravens View of Forest

El-Abd was in for Virgo in an otherwise unchanged starting XI. We started brightly and after 10 minutes Gerrard thumped into Knight and we quite rightly got a penalty.

Up stepped Leon and I thought it was in, but somehow Gerrard pushed it round the post! After that Knight had another chance but shot weakly straight to the keeper.

Then there was another melee and Mayo's shot was saved well. Forest also had chances. Reid hit the underside of the bar (or did Kuipers push it onto the bar) from a free kick. A couple of players and the away fans celebrated we played on and the referee agreed it hadn't crossed the line.

They had another free kick later on that resulted in Oatway being booked for breaking from the wall too early, but then Harty blocked the next one, doing nothing different to Oatway!

Second half and we never got going. Still Forest need a win more desperately than us and in the 2nd half they had the chances. Reid tested Kuipers again, and right at the end King blasted the best chance of the game high over the bar.

It was a shame Molango didn't get the last 10 minutes as Jones looked all over the place up front. Just before the board went up for injury time Kuipers palmed the ball away by diving across a forward. About 3 players went down in a heap and Kuipers was obviously hurt!

As a FDM why didn't he just put his shoulder back in its socket by banging it against the post and then kicking off again :-). May took over and had a comfortable 5 minutes, making a couple of clearances.

The best news was the other results , Rotherham drew, Gillingham lost, Coventry lost in the 90th minute and Plymouth lost again. So we are now 4 points ahead of Plymouth, 5 ahead of Coventry , 8 points ahead of Gillingham and 12 above Forest and 17 above Rotherham.

Roll on Leeds

Kuipers - 8 a couple of great saves, I hope he is fit for Saturday

Reid - 6 didn't quite pull off the great passing movements from last week

Mayo - 6 as with all the team, the passing was poor

Butters - 6 Solid as ever

Hinshelwood - 6 quiter game than normal

El-Abd - 7 good solid return to the starting XI

Harding - 6 mediocre

Oatway - 7 battled hard and tried to spark the team into life

Carpenter - 6 mediocre

Hart - 5 poor game, never sparked anything

Knight - 5 lapsed back into his old routine, we need the Knight of the previous 5 games back!

May - 6 did all that was required

Jones - 4 out of place up front
