Ravens View of Cambridge 2-2 Brighton

So all in all a good final pre-season warm up day, and the 23.17 was 45 minutes late to get us back to that routine as well. As for the match, the first 45 minutes and I am not sure what formation we played, but we went in 2-0 down, and we didn't deserve anything else!

We were in the new stand behind the goal and I would estimate about 200 Albion fans at the match. It started well with a nice bacon roll, but then we saw the new dreadful kit. A wishy-washy blue so we sang "we want our proper blue".

After about 5 minutes we were 1-0 down, then we realised Danny Webb, now sporting a floppy highlighted hair style was playing and he made it 2-0 after Oatway gifted him the ball.

Roberts was looking uncomfortable from the kick off, he dived over the ball for the first goal and was very jittery. Kerekes didn't impress me, but it was hard to tell if he is any good as nobody played well.

Lee appeared to be in some freelance role, but he didn't inspire any football.

The team was I think

First Half

Roberts
Virgo Cullip Butters Mayo
Reid Oatway Lee Harding
Kerekes Knight

Quite a few changes in the second half and I think we ended up as

Second Half

Kuipers
Hinshelwood Cullip Butters Mayo
Currie Nikolas Oatway Jarrett
Molango Lee (Hart after about an hour?)

Currie as I said before is a good ball player and he supplied the ball that Hinshelwood nodded in for 1-2. Molango looks very fast and skilful and he made it 2-2 after picking up a deflection and slamming the ball home.

Nikolas looked much better in this game, and Jarrett impressed me again. It was a good work out and the day finished well by visiting yet more great pubs before heading home.

Lewes next on Tuesday, I imagine it may well be a reserve/youth team line up as too close to Reading on Saturday to risk many players.

My starting line up for Reading would be

Kuipers
Virgo Cullip Butters Harding
Currie Reid Oatway Jarrett
Molango Hart

Subs
Jones, Mayo, Hinshelwood, Robinson, Roberts (if he is fit).

I think that Lee will feature as McGhee playing him all the time, not sure if Piercey is fit yet, not sure when Chippy will be back. Also Robinson appears to have disappeared from the squad.
