Ravens view of Brighton v Grimsby

Last updated : 13 October 2003 By Mark R
Well the first 45 minutes were dreadful. Nathan Jones turned back into a headless chicken and several times gave away the ball instead of playing in Harty who was standing in acres of space.

Hart quite rightly had a go at him, yet it made no difference. The Grimsby back line had Knight and McPhee under control. Kuipers pulled of a great save from a close range shot, somehow turning the ball round the post.

I was glad when the whistle went and hopefully the players would get the kick up the back side they deserved. Second half and what a difference. We at last stated playing football and the ten minutes spell at the start of the second half made the 3 points safe.

The first goal was made by quick thinking Hart, Knight and Rehman. The ball was deflected for a corner, Hart sprinted over, knocked it short to livewire Knight who crossed the ball into Rehmans path, who managed to get in a deflected shot and it was in 1-0.

Just moments later, Harty swings in a great cross, Knight heads towards goal, the keeper somehow makes a great save, but Knight bundled in the ball. 2-0!

After that the game drifted along, we have a good old sing song about some pa*ace reject who used to manage us. I left my seat with 2 minutes showing on the clock, and was on the running track to see Ononura (sp?) race through but somehow blast the ball high over the bar.

I was just having a quick wee when cheering could be heard. We rushed back to the track just in time to see Knight knock home the penalty. 10 in 13 for Neon Light now, not bad eh?
