Ravens View of Brighton 3 Tranmere 0

We need to drastically improve our away record to stay in the play offs. We need a minimum of 4 points from the next two games, 6 would be nice! If we play like we did last night then there is no reason why we shouldn't win both games.

The weather wasn't as cold as predicted and anyway we had plenty to shout about in the first 30 minutes. Carpenter swung in a cross after 5 minutes and Harty powered home a header at the back post, amazing the confidence one goal can give a player.

10 minutes later and Knight took a free kick, the keeper fumbled a traight forward save and Benjamin knocked in the rebound.

15 minutes later and the game was over. The ball ricocheted off a Tranmere defender which put Knight through and he coolly lobbed the keeper for another cracking goal (his 22nd goal of the season, 21st in the league).

The Tranmere bench bizarrely flapped there arms around like windmills claiming off side, sorry you fools but it was a back pass, not a difficult one to understand.

The South stand took great pleasure in mocking Little and his bald headed side kick.

Second half and it was much the same, Tranmere looked neat but not threatening up front, we battled well. The Referee made some poor decisions and showed too many yellow cards in the second half. Cullip was booked for applauding the Referee for giving us a free kick!!!!!

Knight hit a post mid way through the half, I don't recall Roberts making a save.

Roberts - 6 nothing to do
Harding - 7 looks cool and composed
Virgo - 6 solid
Cullip - 6 solid
Butters - 6 solid
Oatway - 8 my MOTM
Carpenter - 7 my player of the season so far!
Jones - 6 put the effort in
Hart - 7 looks much more confident at the moment and deserved the goal
Benjamin - 6 looked laboured at times, but was in the right place at the right time again
Knight - 7 looked much sharper and a great goal
Piercey - 6 good to see him back
El-Abd - 7 put himself about

A disappointing crowd, not helped by only about 70-80 away fans.
