I went up to Brum on the Friday night as Liz's company was working at the vets conference at the ICC & NIA. Went out for a fantastic Japanese meal at a place called Shoguns - they cook the food in front of you, great stuff and even the red wine tasted ok.

Then it was out in Broad street for a few beers, then back to one of the hotel bars for cocktails and more spirits, but can these people in the veterinary world drink. I think it was about 2am by the time we got back to out hotel, Saturday morning Liz went back to the conference (hopefully the Albion aren't heading in the same direction!) and I turned over and went back to sleep.

I finally surfaced about 10.30, went to the local Weatherspoons for a #1.99 cooked breakfast and a pint or two of Guinness. About midday I met up with Liz, we loaded the car with free bags from the conference as Liz is arranging them to be sent as school bags to a school that we have visited in Kenya.

We arrived in Wolverhampton about 1.30, parked up and found some food and drink before getting in the ground and 2.30.

The match was a bit of a non event, a clear penalty, and that was it.

The 800+ Albion fans never stopped singing. The over zealous stewards decided to wade in and throw a few people out. The Wolves fans booed Hoddle at every opportunity before coming alive as West Brom went 2-0 down.

We sang "that's why we're going down" as we fluffed changes, we sang "that's why you're staying down" as Wolves missed chance after chance.

The Mexican waved was started as a protest at watching boring football, we sang "Hoddle for Scotland" - sorry BHAlba! Another good song was "were going to Yeovil were going to Yeovil your not your not", just good banter, but the stewards reacted as it world war 3 was breaking out and were basically acting like organised thugs - not good.

The Wolves fans applauded us and the players at the end. McShane was given some award before the game by the supporters club, (Away Supporters Player of the Year) and he came into the crowd at the end and gave his shirt to some youngster, I am not sure he will be at the Stoke game.

So another good day out spoiled by Gold Range muppets, anyway roll on next season and trips to

Carlise,Yeovil, Oldham, Chesterfield, Barnsley ........ I better stop now as Monday mornings are bad enough
