Poyet proud of title-winning Seagulls

Goals from skipper Inigo Calderon, top scorer Glenn Murray and Elliott Bennett sealed victory for the Seagulls, who had been pegged back by Andy Butler's header.

The Saddlers also had former Brighton player Emanuel Ledesma sent off minutes from the end for a two-footed challenge on Adam El-Abd.

Poyet said: "I am very proud of so many people - the players first because they have worked with me every day, and I am a football man.

"Then I am proud of the staff at the club and myself because it is my first full season as a manager.

"We have won the championship and done it playing my way. I have to go back to the beginning of March when we started setting targets, and the one left now is to finish with 100 points."
