Poyet told BBC Sussex: "I invited him to train with us because I know how fit and professional he is.

"I know how important it is for him to be in England so we'll wait and see on that one."

Kishishev played under Poyet during the Uruguayan's time as assistant manager at Leeds United.

"I know Kish well. We're going to take a couple of weeks or maybe three to make a decision on him," he continued.

Poyet has revealed he is close to signing two or three more players after the captures of Matt Sparrow and Argentine duo Agustin Battipiedi and Cristian Baz.

He added: "Most of the players that we are looking for have other offers so it's not easy to finalise the deals.

"The next two will be important ones in terms of the positions on the pitch and the experience they can bring to the team."
