The Uruguayan told a BBC Sussex fans' forum: "I think it's enough to get up. I'm convinced.

"I'm not going to say it just to be good to the chairman. It's easy for a manager to say I need more money."

Albion chairman Tony Bloom added: "I think we've certainly got a team and a squad together which has an excellent chance of finishing in the top six.

"We're aiming for the top two but it's going to be very difficult. I am confident we will do successfully on the pitch this season."

Meanwhile, managing director Ken Brown confirmed that season tickets will be available for the American Express Community Stadium in the next few months.

He told the forum: "In the autumn we will be going to market with the season tickets. We've also said all the way along that we'll give priority to our existing season-ticket holders.

"We're working on that right now as a board. We'll be in a position to let everybody know exactly what we intend to do very soon."
