The Site is at the top end of Carden Avenue.
You may recall the earlier attempt to get approval for Carden Avenue. Objections were received from a number of Withdean residents, backed by a petition set up by a new manager of ASDA at Hollingbury. The proposal for threatened a boycott of all ASDA Stores.
The Site now has the full backing of ASDA who will undoubtedly benefit from extra passing trade on Match days.
Since public consultation has already been undertaken on this site, all that is now required is for the Environment Committee to approve the necessary Road Closure Orders.
This will be on the Agenda for the next meeting of the Committee on 8 July.
Once that hurdle is overcome, installation of the 2,000 extra seats can begin.
