New Version of Tom Hark for chart assault

Last updated : 08 November 2004 By Bob Gear
The single will be released on January 3rd to give the single the best chance of Charting. The weeks after Christmas are traditionally the lowest sales weeks of the year.

A new version of Tom Hark will be recorded as the A side, entitled Tom Hark (we want falmer!). The song was made famous by Brighton Band the Piranhas, reaching number 6 in the Charts in August 1980.

Before the Piranhas released their version, the song was written & recorded by a group of South African Zwela musicians (Elias and his Zig-Zag Jive Flutes), and also recorded by sixties ska band, The Dynamites.

A ska version of 'Sussex by the Sea' is expected to be confirmed as the b side, possibly with a punk version as well!!

The Group will be known as 'Seagull Ska'.

The single will be available at selected Sussex record stores (we'll let you know which stores when details are released) as well as online at HMV and Amazon.

You will be able to pre-order from December 1st. Should you wish to order this single please do so as soon as possible after 1st December.

The more sales, the more likely the single will get a Chart position!!

Buy some for your Friends as well. I'm sure our Friend Mr Prescott would love a copy or two!!
