New Signings Coming in?

Goalkeeper Chris Jones, from Australian side South Melbourne, and Notts County midfielder Darren Caskey are the 2 players mentioned in a report on the official site. Earlier this afternoon, Jones, who has been trialling with the squad for the past fortnight, made his debut in an Albion shirt, playing in the Reserves 0-0 draw at Cardiff. The result was particularly impressive when you consider that the Albion fielded primarily an U19-side against a Cardiff team full of experienced professionals.

Taylor will be having further talks tomorrow with the 26-year-old former South Melbourne goalkeeper, who played for the Oceania champions in the 2000 World Club Championships against the likes of Manchester United and Brazilian champions Vasco da Gama.

Meanwhile Taylor has commented on reports published earlier today on the official Notts County website suggesting that the Albion manager had made an approach for Basildon born ex-Tottenham trainee Darren Caskey. Taylor confirmed that he had expressed an interest in Caskey, and that he had spoken to County manager Bill Deardon, but emphasised that while a move remained a possibility, that was as far as it went at the minute.

Brighton were one of a clutch of clubs who were linked with Caskey in the summer, following the 27-year-olds decision to take advantage of the Bosman ruling by leaving Reading.
