Contract Updates

Firstly, the injury news

Chris Mcphee has broken a bone during his off-season fitness programme. Apparently he's a lot fitter & stronger, and can continue working on his upper body strength during the 6 weeks it will take him to recover.

Richard Carpenter had an operation on a known knee condition a few weeks ago, and is likely to be missing for the start of the season.

Simon Rodger is continuing his recovery from the injury he sustained at Middlesbrough in the League Cup last season. His fitness will continue to be assessed, expect him to get a look in during the friendlies.

Dean Blackwell is seeing a specialist tomorrow to assess the knee injury he picked up during pre-season last year that kept him out of the whole Division 2 campaign.

David Lee has had an operation on his ankle, but is expected to be back within a couple of weeks.

On top of this Leon Knight is suspended for the first 3 League Chamionship games of the season. This is due to the incident after the end of the Sheffield Wednesday game.

Now, the promised contract update. Adam Virgo has been offered a 3 year deal. Guy Butters, Chris Iwelumo, Nathan Jones & Paul Reid have all been offered a further year.

Danny Cullip & Leon Knight have both been offered two-year extensions to their current deals. Simon Rodger & Dean Blackwell will be offered contracts once they prove their fitness.

The other out of contract players still on the Clubs books have been offered 3 month deals to prove their worth. These players are John PierceyDavid Lee,  Dean Hammond & Dan Beck.

Meanwhile, Mark McGhee is back from his late holiday (blame the play-off final), and is no doubt scouring the country for players willing to join a League Championship team.

Watch out for new signings soon.
