Bury Given another six weeks

Bury have been given a further six weeks in which to stave off financial ruin. The Shakers were placed into administration a fortnight ago after creditors demanded payment on a £1 million mortgage.

However the High Court sitting in Manchester today extended the club's administration period to April 26 - five days after Bury's final league match away to Peterborough - after their administrators proved the club had enough cash to fund it through to the end of the season.

The decision means that the club now has six weeks to negotiate with a number of interested parties in an effort to shore up the club's long-term future.
