Leon Knight, who has scored 4 goals in his 2 league games for the Albion this Season, has turned down the chance to sign for QPR. Little Leon, only 5' 4" tall, had talks with QPR's manager Ian Holloway yesterday.

His agent is now in detailed talks with Brighton Chairman Dick Knight. Holloway, quoted on QPR's Official website said "We did all we could to persuade Leon to sign but he has shown enormous loyalty to Steve Coppell"

He continued "We are disappointed that we have not been able to secure the services of an impressive player"

Brightons Official Site states that a 2-year deal is under discussion, and also that two 'other first division clubs' are interested.

Leon Knight had originally signed for Brighton on a three month deal with a view to a longer deal. He would not commit to a full season nor a permanent deal due to the experience he endured at Sheffield Wednesday last Season.

Dick Knight talking on London Radio said "Leon has enjoyed his time here at the Albion during his loan spell, and has really settled in. He scored goals and enjoyed the banter within the squad. The deal has been agreed with Chelsea and it's now just down to the player.

He knows what we have on offer here, with a strong squad, excellent manager and he's excited by the plans for Falmer."

Given the loyalty that Leon Knight has shown to the Sir Stevie, and that he is in the detailed negotiations, I think we can take it as read that Leon Knight will be signing for the Albion.

Look out for confirmation tomorrow.
