Borough take friendly honours

Goals from summer signings Agustin Battipiedi and Radostin Kishishev were not enough to prevent Brighton from slipping to a 3-2 friendly defeat at Eastbourne. Argentine midfielder Battipiedi, who joined on a free transfer from Comunicaciones, opened the scoring after just eight minutes when he converted Inigo Calderon's pass. Eastbourne turned the game on its head when former Albion scholar Ollie Rowe headed home from a free-kick two minutes into the second half before Ross Treleavan put the non-league side ahead after 56 minutes. Kishishev rifled in a shot from the edge of the area 20 minutes from time to put Brighton back on level terms. However, substitute goalkeeper Tom Godfrey, who had not long entered the action, palmed away a long throw-in which ricocheted off defender George Hayward into his own net to give Eastbourne the win.
