Blayney staying til December

Because of the new transfer rules BHA can not extend Wayne Henderson's loan past the 1st November.

We can, however, extend Blayneys current loan spell by a further 2 months, taking the loan period to December 17th.

Manager Mark McGhee told the Argus: "When I brought Alan in I expected him to play three or four games because I thought Wayne had a bad injury. He only played one game and Alan understood I had to be totally fair to Wayne.

"If you miss one game you come straight back in, if you miss three and somebody plays well you are in danger of losing your place. Alan accepted that and was prepared to sit it out until the first of November when he would then be able to go into the team, which is great."

Michel Kuipers is still recovering from an injury, and from December 17 the Albion will only have Kuipers and new French signing Florent Chagneau as senior keepers.

McGhee will then be able to decide in the January transfer window whether to try to buy Henderson from Aston Villa or Blayney from Southampton.
