Wolverhampton

We had been staying half way between Welshpool and Newtown over the weekend and left there about 4pm and by 5.30pm were parking up about 500 yards from the ground in the car park of a pub called the Goal Posts.

We headed up the road to the Varsity to meet up with some other Albion fans. It was strange that everyone we met up with lived outside Sussex! (Jamie from Southport, Clive from Selby, Gary from Beverley, Ben at Preston Uni, Notters from Nottingham and Darren from Bristol).

We moved on to a pub called the London Standard and then at 7.30 strolled to the ground. The fans were streaming under the subway but as we branched left to the away seats the crowds thinned considerably!

We got into the Jack Harris stand and the away section did start filling up
and I would guess around 600 hardy souls had made the trip despite the game
being on TV.

The Wolves fans were noisy to start with but the Brighton fans were soon out singing them and on the pitch we were outplaying them. I won't go into the game as most would have seen it, but I thought we possibly deserved a win, but as I am biased a draw was probably fair, as Kuipers made some world class saves to keep us in the match.

Then again we should have been 2 or 3 up at half time. The final whistle was greeted with relief and all the players came over to acknowledge the loyal noisy travelling support.

Wolves had 22,500 at the match we had 5/600 yet we made more noise them
then. The Wolves team is made up of Premiership rejects and expensive first
Division players yet we played them off the park at times.

For the first time for a long time I am starting to believe that we can stay
up!
