Ipswich

We had to wait to pick up another mate but still arrived in Ipswich about 12.45. We met up with the lads and lasses from the train in Mannings in the town centre and then had another few beers in the pub next door.

There were football fans all over the place, no trouble, but loads of Police warning Brighton fans to avoid pubs for there own safety. We were in these pubs and there was no hassle at all!

We arrived in the ground at about 2.50 and the Police were stopping quite a few entering as they said people were drunk, rubbish again! We all got in fine and joined the packed away seats.

The 1,300 to us was full and they opened up the #28 seats as more and more Brighton arrived and I would say we had at least 1,500 at the match. The atmosphere in the away end was superb and it was virtual non stop singing.

The game kicked off and the first half was scrappy. Nobody looked liked scoring until Cullip under hit a back pass and Bent said thank you very much and tucked the ball home.

Just how Cullip could blame Beasant was beyond me. At half time I was very disappointed and couldn't see us scoring.

Second half and what a difference.

We battled, we scrapped, we played some great football and I reckon it was the best 45 minutes I have seen this season. Hart broke down the left wing, put in a peach of a cross for Rougier to smack his header against the bar, it smacked out and hit the keeper on the back of the head and was in.

The match kicks off, Ipswich attack, I am sending a mate the score and I look up and Danson is pointing to the penalty spot. Arrgrghhhh! Luckily up steps the Ipswich player to blast it high and wide!

Woo Hoo!

After that the away stand was so so noisy. 80 minutes gone, Brooker weaves his magic, somehow still gets in a low cross, several players miss the ball and Rougier cooly slots it home, the away stand goes balistic!

What a game!

Ipswich pick the ball up outside the danger area but bang, the player shoots and an unstoppable shot makes it 2-2 after 86 minutes!

It was a great game of football, a great place to drink and a great result.

Tuesday , we MUST MUST win.
