I don't believe it............

and not forgetting hitting the crossbar twice and the post once.

We can't keep saying well we played well enough to win and that we will stay up as playing too well to go down, we lost to a bottom 6 side again (Walsall are a dire team and we have played 180 minutes against them, conceded 3 goals and failed to score!).

I think it is time for SC to make some changes, Blackwell starting for Pethick, Roger starting for Oatway and Kitson or Hart replacing Barrett. We need to change our luck as we have not had much of any this season.

We arrived in Walsall at 1pm after coming in from Lizs Mum and Dads near Newtown in mid Wales. We met up with the other train lot and had a few beers in nice friendly local pubs. We caught the train into Bescot and joined the other 1,000+ Albion fans behind the goal.

The goal after 7 minutes was a dreadful start and the away support was for once rather quiet and subdued for a lot of the match. Its too depressing to go on about how we dominated a match, yet couldn't score.

At the end of the match I was left feeling that we are a team destined to be relegated, we deserve our luck to change and perhaps we could escape, but we have only won 4 games all season and need to win double that to even be in with any chance of staying up, I just cant see it. At least 43 year old Bessant looked OK in goal and still posses a huge goal kick.

After the match there was some unpleasant behaviour at Bescot station, nearly resulting in a big punch up, but the throwing of coins between platforms was well out of order and one or two Walsall tw*ts deserved a slap, but didn't get one. (Coin throwing particularly winds me up as anyone who knows me will know I know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of it!).

To cap of a great day our train back to Wales from Birmingham New Street was
30+ minutes late, but we did get back by 9pm, after a swift pint in the Sheakspears outside BNS station.

Tuesday - nothing less than a win will do.

Player ratings

Bessant - 6 not a lot to do but made a couple of decent saves.
Watson - 7 best game this season and keeper somehow turned his header over the bar.
Jones - 8 great game, pushing forward and kept going on and on and on, great never say die attitude
Mayo - 6 nothing spectacular
Cullip - 8 usual great battling display
Pethick - 5 for one moment that cost us the games
Oatway - 6 nothing spectacular
Carpenter - 6 not really in it and taken out be a vicious tackle.
Brooker - 6 attacked but no end result
Barrett - 4 time to replace him, will he score again? Loss of confidence when near the goal is now getting to him and effecting his whole game, shooting instead of passing and getting frustrated.
Zamora - 5 or 8 cant make up my mind, some brilliant flashes of magic, hit the bar with when deserved to score, but missed a header from 2 yards, somehow putting it against the bar with an empty goal!

Subs
Roger - 7 looked good when he came on and unlucky when shot hit the post Hart - 7 how did the keeper keep his header out? Why did he only get 10 minutes?
Blackwell - 7 solid when he came on

MOTM has to be the Walsall keeper for 2 brilliant match winning saves.
