AFC Wimbledon & Walsall

We met up with Salisbury Mark and his girlfriend who had left the Windsor
Castle and our other Albion mates who where all off to Selhurst. There were
several Wimbledon fans on the train and we got our fist handshake and thank
you as we got off at Norbiton station.

We arrived at the ground and there were a few other Albion fans about, Jan,
Liz Costa etc and when we bought a programme the seller shook our hands and
thanked us for coming and said they new they could count on Albion fans to
back the fight against Koppel and Franchise United!

We had a few beers in the Social club, met up with Fareham Martin, Paul and Clare, Jack Straw and Crawley Sue. Tim I didn't realise it was you taking pictures outside, only realised it was you when I saw you on the sidelines in your Albion shirt!

Once in the ground we headed round to the West Country Seagulls flag. I
would have said around 60/70 Brighton congregated in one corner.

The match was dire in the first half but the second exciting. AFC were 1-0 down but quickly equalised, only for Cove to go ahead again from the kick off, to
then see a 25 yard curling reply within a minute so 2-2 and AFC Wimbledon
were well up for this. I was really pleased when they scored an 88th minute
winner!

Every AFC Wimbledon player came over to us at the end and we got a cheer and round of applause from the entire crowd at the end as the tannouy announcer thanked us for coming!

The atmosphere was brilliant and you could see the joy and pleasure the supporters were having, especially when the crowd was confirmed as higher than at Selhurst.

The announcer dedicated a song to Koppel and played the laughing policeman. Superb!

On to Monday and I cant find much to say. No fight, no bottle, NO DESIRE,
no spirit, no passing, no goals.

Watson & Cullip spent the entire second half shouting abuse at Paul Brooker, perhaps they should look at there own performance first. Oatway was
embarrassing and how did he stay on for 90 minutes?

We had a left footer playing right back, a right footer playing left back and a keeper who started badly but did redeem himself with 2 great saves. Shame the game was lost in the first 7 minutes!

I paid #415 for my season ticket, has the extra money gone on the new
improved contracts for players like Oatway, & Watson who appear to think
they can stroll round for 90 minutes and pick up a nice fat wage packet?
Hope not!

We need to get in a midfielder with vision!
